Embark on this journey with us – where cultural boundaries fade away, and landscape design transcends geographical constraints. Our latest project is an open terrace concept in Pune, a place we transformed into the biggest regal, beacon of grandeur in town!
Our humble process juxtaposes the extravagance of our ambition: A terrace that is the epitome of quiet luxury and resplendent decor. Featuring a sleek gazebo structure alongside other decor elements, it feels like we have breathed life into a wonderland of bright hues, and lush greenery. Everything, from the decor elements brought in from South Africa and Turkey to the hand-painted statement wall sporting a beautiful peacock, is a true trademark of Puru design. Each piece of this outdoor heaven is special and ties into the otherworldly aura of our newly transformed terrace – a place both lively yet impossibly luxurious in its gift of self-indulgence.
Private, elegant and indulgent of culturally rich decor, this terrace transformation is, without doubt, one of our finest works to date.
I saw the future of this room as soon as I entered it. This place is an exact reflection of the passion, and ambition of people living inside it. Puru vibed well with this fun-loving, easy-going, neophile south Indian family, who love their culture as much as they miss it.
In a heart-warming moment, their children gave us an opportunity to add some traditional elements in the best and the most soulful way. This design is a cohesive collection of exploring new horizons and protecting the old heritage. Eventually, the birds took shelter above the clouds and inside this paradise. The family took pride in celebrating their promised land. And we took care of building it all.
From a terrace with a view of Pashan hills to a courtyard filled with memories of a childhood in South India, Puru translated and transformed this place into desire. After all, a clever design converts any vacant space into a meaningful environmentWitness the nuanced, Indian Heritage-themed Interior Decor project completed in Mumbai; a project that draws from the rich history of Indian architecture, bringing back the roots of our culture into our homes. The remarkably warm undertones used throughout the decor are a subtle nod to the raw and organic elements of Rajasthani’s decorative style. Keeping in line with the theme, the sprawling sofas in the living room have been sourced directly from Jodhpur.
Our most recent project was a breathtaking penthouse renovation project in Pune. The client’s vision was striking as it was grand. The primary goal was to create a dreamy, colourful traditional Indian terrace design with standout pieces – something right out of evergreen fairytale stories.
We began by combining the brilliant colour palettes of a traditional Indian Aangan – pops of canary yellow and fiery orange stood out nicely against the brilliance of the lush green potted plants. Beautiful statement items were strategically placed throughout the yard to offer an exotic flavour, ranging from a traditional Saraswatiji statue purchased from Orissa to an ornate fountain diligently transported from Bali.
Planned and executed meticulously, the Gazebo we created sports elements of Indian traditional motifs, ample comfortable seating, a host of lively plants, and a gorgeous wooden chandelier. Complete with a private room constructed to provide a deep relaxation state, we left no stone unturned with this unbelievable penthouse renovation project in Pune.
The trick to mastering home balcony designs: to stand out, you must keep it simple.
With a balcony space such as this – connected to not one, but two areas of the house-space were our toughest battle to fight.
We beat the odds and created an unbelievably comfortable space with a 3 – piece outdoor sofa set and a couple of well-placed loveseats. The massive presence of fresh, potted balcony plants kept in lovely terracotta vases helped to provide visual relief to the otherwise small balcony design. To cushions and beyond-all pieces of furniture were mindfully made to be weatherproof and filled with the brightest colours. After all, the best home balcony designs include comfy sitting and stunning views – our choice of dazzling pinks and royal blues created an effect so inviting that this balcony design became a roaring success.
The idea with this semi-open, beautiful balcony space that my clients wanted me to redesign was to make it an ideal space to relax with a cup of coffee in hand. We began investing in the best outdoor furniture, creating a layout that maximised the verdant surroundings and the calm environment that came along with it. The decision to include striking bohemian-themed items complete with bold prints and bolder colours was the game-changer for us. They complemented the open skies and the green view, while also being fashionably chic.
The vivid pinks, cerulean blues, and earthy furniture gave the space a sense of life that was unmistakable while spending time there. Furthermore, the strategic lighting choices in the form of outdoor lamps, hanging lights, and soft yellow bulbs helped introduce a subtlety that is hard to replicate elsewhere. All in all, there is no doubt that this half-open, half-closed balcony became a veritable half-home, half-haven for our clients.
Located on the stunning property in NIBM, Pune, this balcony is the epitome of serene luxury, offering panoramic views of expansive 12-acre green forests and spectacular sunsets. Puru thoughtfully transformed it into a matchmaking session; the natural beauty of the surroundings with vibrant design elements, creating a delightful outdoor haven.
The furniture selection is, carefully chosen to complement the open-air setting. Beautiful, nature-inspired furniture pieces create a welcoming atmosphere, while strategically placed lighting adds warmth and charm, perfect for evening relaxation with a gorgeous sunset view. Bright colours like pink, blue, and yellow in the accessory elements infuse the balcony with energy, setting a joyful, uplifting mood that enhances the stunning atmosphere.
A striking antique dressing table adds character and charm to the space, while bright floral wallpaper perfectly completes the look. Greenery housed in ornate Mughal hand-painted pots. The use of patterned tiles in beige and indigo brings a sophisticated texture to the flooring.
Isn’t it nice to have a fresh start where you can gather a few new pieces every day and put them back together in a new way, expanding on what is possible? That is exactly what we did for our client! The terrace is a part of an old vintage bungalow that is situated-not in Santorini Greece- but right here in the heart of our own city of Pune. The bungalow is located in an upscale area of Pune’s S.B.Road.
The revamping project began by using striking, patterned ceramic tiles. The impact of the symmetrical patterns snaking across the length of the terrace was the exact visual illusion we were looking for. Old chairs and new Ikea furniture found their home together in this magnificently colourful space – a magical bubble built out of the brightest blues, pinkest magentas, and the best cushions a person could ask for. The centre table was chosen to accommodate extra storage, something that will be useful for house parties and lazy summer afternoons alike!
The nuances taken care of in the making of this terrace are the highlight point without a doubt. The client’s request to keep the wall decor minimal became a masterclass in clever reflective play with a statement wooden mirror and hanging potted plants. It was accompanied by strategic outdoor weatherproof LED lamps; meaning rain or sun comes, our clients have the perfectly illuminated, cosy terrace they dreamed.
Grabbing immediate attention with our new eclectic space, the style we used infuses the terrace with energy and a fun vibe; a mix and match of trends, decor styles and colours. This is a vibrant Indian terrace with some bold, some subtle yet eye-catching elements at its core. We changed the tiles of the terrace with an offset of the beige and red rug. The finishing touch was a distressed bench with a playful and selectively curated collection of cushions.
In this 500 sq.ft. space, the old wooden deck was replaced with striking Indigo-Ochre patterned Spanish tiles. A full false ceiling was added to create a more accessible structure, allowing us to thoughtfully plan the lighting. This design ensures that the natural light flowing into the balcony is enhanced, resulting in a space that feels both inviting and sophisticated.
The finer details in this balcony space come with the opulent antique finish brass statue placed atop a custom made platform, with 2 brass Samais placed on either side of it. What makes this genuinely a modern Indian decor project is the personal touches it carries; be it the hand-painted statement pillar or the massive double mirror placement, drama is present aplenty in this 500 sq.ft of space. An absolutely beautiful custom made teak-wood seater with traditional pillars to complete the look we were going for. The combination of bold Indian colours, antique decor and modern stylistic elements come together in the perfect balcony one could ask for. Lush greenery added via verdant plants infused a vibrancy that one could feel as soon as they entered the balcony.
The beauty and grandeur of our Indian culture have been captured in so many ways within the scope of this project, making it truly special for us and the happy clients!
